· Penyal d´Ifach ·
The park is located on an isolated rocky outcrop on the north coast of the province of Alicante, constituting one of the last foothills of the Betic mountain range and reaching an altitude of 332 metres.2 This huge limestone mass slopes steeply down to the sea and is linked to the mainland by a detrital isthmus. Due to its physical characteristics, it is a third-order geodesic vertex, which was once used for the triangulation of Spain. There is a hiking route that leads to the top of the Peñón de Ifach. From there there are very good views of the Mediterranean and on clear days it is possible to make out the island of Formentera, Ibiza and the cape of Santa Pola
